RegO_®’s “New” Design

RegO_® Cryo-Flow Products’ NEW NR Series Relief valve reduces the discharge noise normally associated with Cryogenic Relief valves by two methods:

1) The new poppet design incorporates vertically drilled flow holes (as opposed to horizontally drilled) in order to smooth the relief flow path, and reduce maximum pressurized face area. Reduction in this face area limits poppet lift at lower over-pressures, thereby reducing noise.

 2) The new valve body design incorporates a taper in place of the usual “huddling chamber.” This taper design serves two purposes; one is to eliminate the trademark ”pop” by slowing the pressure increase directly after valve opening, and two is to limit relief flow at lower overpressures, further reducing noise.
